confidence, how we’ve missed ye…

I know that on Buffy whenever Xander said “whew…that wasn’t so bad!” or similar, they’d all give him the gas face. Knowing murphy’s law, he’d just invited down doom.

But I remain impressed. I’d let myself forget how to write. I churned out stories as much to entertain myself in boring junior high and hi skool classes. Showing them to other people never seemed to go the way I wanted it to. I accepted their attention, but eventually just let it go. Writing anything as a profession seemed out of grasp.

College pals popped up on the facebook and before I knew it I was flirting with doing NaNoWriMo this year.

Now I’m ahead of schedule, firming up an idea of where it’s headed. I didn’t even realize I still knew how to do this.

I don’t even care if I’m not very proud of it when it’s done. I’ve churned up too much to remember or review adequately on the screen.

So being as I’m an adult now, and we have a printer sitting around sucking power even when it’s asleep. I printed it out. The pinch of pages has grown to a short stack.

I stand up to thank Goddess for the experience thusfar…

…now back to your previously scheduled internet, such as it is.
